Community Services Center/Better Living Center

Adventist Community Services (ACS) is an outreach ministry of the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. NAD ACS is the umbrella organization under which our local ACS centers in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Guam and Micronesia operate. The ACS ministry aims to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the local communities. ACS centers currently function as food pantries and thrift stores, offering food, clothes, furniture, basic supplies, and Bible study materials to individuals and families in need. They provide service year-round, regardless of race or religious affiliation.

Port Townsend's Adventist Community Services Center is housed in the Better Living Center. The lower level of this building houses The Thrift Store with Heart. Here individuals can purchase high quality donated goods for extremely low cost or for free with obvious need. Those experiencing misfortune can receive goods or vouchers to help them through the rough spots in life. The Thrift Store with Heart is open Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Located outside the building is a small food pantry where community members may find emergency food supplies generously placed there by community members.

The main floor of the Better Living Center boasts a large open space used for public presentations including cooking classes, community disaster preparedness meetings, etc. Keep track of upcoming events on the BLC calendar below.
